Rebuilding with my boys

Due to recent personal circumstances, I'm reaching out to friends and family (and strangers) to help support me in a time of need.  On July 25, 2017, my soon-to-be-ex-husband moved out of our home, unexpectedly, and took with him almost everything we had built together over the last 10 years. I came home from work to an empty house, and more heartbreakingly, my children gone (2 boys, ages 8 and 9).  He took everything - from big items like appliances to smaller things like pots and pans. The master bedroom is completely empty. He took the washer/dryer, all of the televisions and game systems, garage items like yard equipment, basic tools and camping gear. He cleared out the kitchen almost entirely to include the refrigerator and its contents, the entire food pantry, spices, basic necessities like chopping knives, ladels, pizza cutter, fruit bowl, coffee maker, and toaster oven. All of the Christmas decorations I had collected over the years, some passed down from my grandmother. My kids' rooms were emptied as he stole their beds, games, all of their clothing, toys, and books.

Only because of the generosity and kindness of friends have I been able to replace a few of these items to include my children's beds, the refrigerator and the washer and dryer.

Since this happened, I've changed the locks, I HAVE MY CHILDREN IN MY CARE, I've retained a lawyer, and I am moving forward with divorce. There are other circumstances I cannot disclose publicly because of our pending divorce.

Over the last few weeks I've been overwhelmed emotionally and financially, but I have also been witness to the outpouring of love and generosity from those that truly care about me and my children. Without this network of support under us, I wouldn't have the fight in me to go another round.

If anyone would like to help support me and my children as we rebuild our lives, your money will go toward the retainer for my lawyer (5K) as well as replacing the things that were taken from our home. I'll be able to breathe a little more and cry a lot less.  I currently lose sleep over how to cover the cost of the utilities he left me with, how much food I'll be able to budget, where their school clothes are going to come from, and how to care for our dog Louie (still a very important family member). If you can't give monetarily, anything from yard maintenance to child care or even a home cooked meal is much appreciated.  Donations are also accepted. The boys wear size medium (7/8 or 10) and shoe size 3.5. I've recently updated an Amazon wishlist featuring specific items we lost.

Thank you doesn't cover the gratefulness I feel toward those who have already given of their time, love, energy, and financial support. We will never forget it.

I'd also like to add that your generosity does not mean you are choosing a side between him and me.  This is simply to help my boys and I get back on our feet.
