I am humbly writing this and asking for help because I am not sure what to do anymore. Since the start of November, my ankle started feeling weird since rolling it in October. A week later, walking started hurting more and more, which lead to me leaving work early because I couldn't handle the pain anymore. The pain eventually led me to the ER.
After multiple doctors visits and waiting for appointments, I finally got an MRI done.
The results I've been waiting for so that I can finally begin to take the proper steps to get my life back to normal.
Unfortunately, this means I need surgery to reconstruct the ligaments in my ankle and another process to prevent early osteoarthritis.
Without this surgery, I will not be able to return to work. I won't be able to go for walks or do cardio in the workouts that I've grown to enjoy since the covid lockdowns.
I won't be able to live the life I had before. I made this fundraiser to prepare for this surgery. After 2 urgent care visits, 2 Orthopedic specialists, an ER visit and the multiple visits I've had with my now current podiatrist, I'm starting to dig a hole.
The money will help with the cost of surgery I am having in January, visits, prescriptions, physical therapy and bills I'm going to get behind until I can go back to work. (Doctor thinks I'll be able to return early April)
I have started the process for temporary disability, but it has been difficult and no clear date to when I will be receiving it. With that being said, what I get from it will not be nearly enough to get me through this.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your help.
I've never done anything like this GoFundMe before. But I have to accept that the American health system is expensive, and incredibly difficult to get through.
But I look forward to living a normal life again.
