Rivers of Hope Cancer Project

Donation protected
Hello my name is Jim Byrne.  My son Sean Byrne started Rivers of Hope Cancer Project in June 2017.  Sean was fighting the cancer that eventually led to his passing on 3 February 2018.  Sean was so touched by the generosity of the Make-a-Wish foundation and the Tres Wagner Cancer Project that he wanted to do something similar.  Sean wanted the Rivers of Hope Cancer Project to be what he referred to as a mini-Make-a-Wish.  Sean always thought as did I, that he was going to beat cancer.  He wanted to use the project as a way to connect with other kids fighting cancer and give the gift of hope, faith, strength and a great day with gifts that would mean something special to them and their families.

Sean was a dreamer.  He was compassionate, tough and gentle.  He loved everyone and touched the lives of so many before during and after his diagnoses.  Sean wanted to become a pastor, an entrepreneur and a motivational speaker.  He wanted to share his testimony with others to give them hope and strength throughout their battle and into their lives.  Sean left a legacy, and we are going to continue his legacy.

Sean gave 14 gifts to other kids fighting cancer before he passed.  Sean wanted his family to continue his work.  Since his passing his brother Patrick along with his friend Kenny and former coach John Molina (a recipient of a gift) gave the first gift since his passing.  We are working to turn Rivers of Hope Cancer Project into a 501c3 in order to help as many kids as possible and help those kids not only in their time of need not but in the future as well.

Rivers of Hope is going to start with giving gifts to children in the fight of their lives.  It will continue to help create the opportunities in life Sean never had, but they will.

Rivers of Hope started with Sean’s desire to give  back and a relationship with Tai Lopez an entrepreneur he admired.  Tai gave a gift enabling Rivers of Hope to start its mission along with the gifts of many of you.

Sean wanted to be a motivational speaker. I am going to leave all of you with the three points he intended to make with his audience and a challenge:

1.       You are not weak or a victim. You don't know how strong you really are until you have to be, you have more strength in you than you ever knew.

2.       Never give up on your hopes and dreams. If you're going to fight, fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Arc and it's starting to rain.

3.       Give back. No matter what your circumstance, you can always help others even if is only a smile.  Find the opportunity every day.

The challenge:

Live you like you mean it! Don’t let important words remain unsaid, forgive, find joy, make time, don't wait, help others, find the opportunity, serve, connect, share, and most importantly, love each other and everyone else.
