Conner Weber's Autism Therapy Fund

This is my grandson, Conner Weber. Conner is severely autistic. He is 12 years old and has been battling Autism since he was diagnosed at the age of two. He is nonverbal yet a vibrant and beautiful boy. His parents are Rick and Christina Weber of Ionia, Michigan and he has two amazing little sisters, Taylor and Katelyn.

Getting right to the point, Conner is self-injurous. His meltdowns have caused him to seriously harm himself and his parents.They have been struggling with this a very long time and it has finally brought him and his family to a cross roads. He has injured himself to the point of hospitalization multiple times where he is restrained and heavily medicated. At this moment, he is in the Pediatric Psychiatric Ward at the University of Michigan where he has been for four weeks. There has been no improvement since he was admitted and just a few days ago he had a seizure which has never happened before. Doctors have decided there is nothing more they can do for him there. We are all scared to death for Conner.

As a last resort, on March 22nd, Conner will to go to The Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment and Research in Portage, Michigan. This will be residential behavioral therapy treatment lasting 6 months to a year. Insurance will only cover a portion of this treatment. On top of that, there is the cost of transportation and hotel stays for visitation to consider. Conner's Mom has not been able to work for months as his condition lately has required full time attention. Conner's Dad works 50-60 hours a week to support their family as well as cover medical bills. Expenses are piling up and the cost of this new treatment is overwhelming.

Without this treatment, Conner may never be able to live at home with his family again.
