Daisy's Surgery

Donation protected
Daisy is an 11 month old Weimaraner puppy that was surrendered to Heartland Weimaraner Rescue when her owners realized they could not financially take care of her medical needs. Daisy suffered from a gastric abscess that went undetected and caused a 4 cm growth in her abdomen, which eventually adhered to the pancreas and was leaking into her stomach. The abscess made it very difficult for Daisy to digest food and she became severely underweight, lethargic, and ultimately very sick. Had we not been able to intervene soon, Daisy would not have survived. Daisy had emergency surgery to remove the abscess and is now under strict medical care while she heals. Part of her stomach was removed and she will need to be on a special diet for the next few months. While she’s not fully out of the woods, and will still need some follow up testing and care, we feel confident that the doctors were able to surgically correct the issue. She should bounce back and be a happy, healthy girl! Hopefully, with time, rest, and the right diet we can get Daisy back to 100% and enjoying life as any weimaraner puppy should! Heartland Weimaraner Rescue is a non-profit (501c3) rescue and depends solely on donations to continue their mission of caring for weimaraners in need. We would greatly appreciate your tax deductible donation to help with the cost of Daisy’s surgery and ongoing care.
