Hi my name is Aja! With a heavy heart, I am reaching out to ask for your help during the most painful time of my life.

A few weeks ago, my beautiful sister tragically lost her life during a C-section in Africa. Just hours before her procedure, we spoke on FaceTime. She was glowing, smiling with so much love and hope as she prepared to welcome her baby into the world. That was the last time I saw her alive. She never came back out of the theatre. My world fell apart in that moment.

She was more than my sister—she was my best friend. Her death has left a deep hole in our hearts, and now her two young children are left without their mother. One of them is a newborn baby who will never get to know the warmth of her embrace.

To make things harder, our mother—who is overwhelmed with grief—is not in good health and cannot look after the children. I am doing everything I can to care for them, and I am trying my best to bring both children to the UK so they can grow up safe, loved, and surrounded by family.

But I can’t do this alone.
