<div>Hello, my name is Yemi Olivares. I am the mother of two beautiful girls and one amazing boy. Recently my family has gone through the tragedy of losing my only son, Edwin Fernando. On Saturday morning around 1:30a.m, we received a call that completely shattered my world. My beloved Nando, who was 24 years of age, was shot and killed in the privacy of his home, alongside his fiance, his brother in law, and 3 dogs which they loved. The pain my family and I are going through is truly unexplainable. As we do our best to come to terms with Nando's absence, we are faced with large expenses needed to give my son a proper goodbye.

<div>Fernando (or fer as our family called him) was a gentle soul. He was a pillar of joy and happiness at every gathering and at every moment of our lives. He had great aspirations to pursue a career as a educator both in academics and music. Fer wanted to be a leader and teacher for future generations and present ones as well. Like many, he had plans to marry and live life to the fullest.

<div>There are no words to describe just how wonderful he was as a brother, son, cousin, uncle, friend, partner, and overall person. He was kind and fun. The kind of person who knew exactly how to make you smile and make your day. He was a hard worker, he strived to follow his dreams of having being a great father, loving husband, and successful human being. He had everything to achieve his goals, but sadly it is something my eyes will never get to see. As a mother, I am completely and utterly devastated.

<div>Fer (como le llamábamos la familia) era un alma bondadosa. Era un pilar de alegría y felicidad en cada reunión y en cada momento de nuestras vidas. Tenía grandes aspiraciones de seguir una carrera como educador tanto en lo académico como en lo musical. El quería ser un líder y un maestro para las generaciones futuras y también para las actuales. Como muchos, tenía planes de casarse y vivir la vida al máximo.

<div>No hay palabras para describir lo maravilloso que era como hermano, hijo, primo, tío, amigo, compañero y persona en general. Era amable y divertido, el tipo de persona que sabía exactamente cómo hacerte sonreír y alegrarte el día. Fer era un gran trabajador, se esforzaba por cumplir sus sueños de ser un gran padre, un marido cariñoso y un ser humano de éxito. Lo tenía todo para alcanzar sus metas, pero lamentablemente es algo que mis ojos nunca llegarán a ver. Como madre, estoy completa y absolutamente devastada.
