Help us rebuild after the fire

Donation protected
We just lost everything due to the fire. It will never quite be the same. If you feel like donating to help us get back on our feet... please do so here.

A little back story about the house- This was the best house in the world. The owner Ken McCauley is a very thoughtful man who bought a house with a pool and a hottub because he wanted to have roommates and live in a fun place. He thought of everything to make the place function well including a dog run, chore charts, roommate agreements, and all-inclusive rent down to the dishsoap and TP. There was never a conversation about money or any of the other disagreements one might have living with 4 other people and 3 dogs.

We all got along very well and enjoyed each other's company. It was Chi's birthday week and the night of the fire, we had all planned to go play ping pong at Pip n Bounce. Nobody wanted to lose their home. We were all very comfortable and grateful and reminded each other and Ken, our landlordmate, how much we appreciated everything he did for us. I guess it was too good to be true. The fire has made the home completely uninhabitable and the most of our possessions were lost Everything Amy owned was completely incinerated.

What we left in the house is now coated in a toxic burnt plastic and penetrated by soot and smoke that is extremely difficult if not impossible to remove. I've washed a few things 4 times and only a few were able to let go completely.  At this point, I'm worried there are going to be future repurcussions to my health by handling anymore of this carcinogenic matter. The Fire Investigator said we were looking at a total loss which is hard to believe and accept.

Three of the 4 roommates are without insurance to cover their fire expenses which is a lesson they have unfortunately had to learn the hard way. Fires can happen anytime. Please help however you can and please please please make sure your fire detectors are working, your electrical is up to code, and you have fire extinguishers in the house properly charged and maintained by the Fire Dept.

Thanks in advance for all the love, kindness, and generosity.
