It appears that someone may have created a fraudulent gofundme campaign in support of Luke and our family. It was created by Eric P. and it rapidly raised a thousand dollars. We tried to contact Eric P. without success. We are working with authorities to shut that campaign down.
That incident prompted us to create this campaign. We did not create this campaign to solicit donations. Your continued prayers and support are all we ask for. However, if you feel the desire to make a donation, at least you can be sure that this will go to our family.
Our son Luke was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer in December of 2013 when he was 16. Since that time he has undergone 24 rounds of chemo, over 100 radiation treatments and 2 surgeries. Luke didn't let cancer stop him from enjoying life. "I'm a cancer patient when I have to be and when I'm not I play baseball" is what Luke told a reporter. And he did play a full season of basketball and baseball last spring for Canon-McMillan while being treated. Two weeks ago we learned that the cancer has spread and that it is terminal. Luke continues to enjoy life with the support of his family, friends, girlfriend and community.
We thank you for your continued support, even if it's simply posting a message, sending letters, praying/sending positive vibes or financial support. All of these displays of support mean a great deal to our family and help us realize that we are not alone.
