Her Battle Is Our Battle

On January 31. 2018, our mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma. Follow up testing showed that the cancer was contained to her lung with the most concerning mass wrapped around her mediastinal. Mom had her first round of chemo on February 9. The side effects were difficult as promised but she was also special enough to be part of the 10% of patients that suffer Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy. With the weight of the mass on her mediastinal, forgoing future treatments is not an option as we were given a very paralyzing 30 days before this beast could collapse her lung and esophagus. Her oncologist is currently making a decision on how they will be able to prevent the neuropathy from happening with her second treatment, scheduled the first of March. 

At this time we are reaching out for any and every bit of support we can get. She has not returned to work since her first stent in the ER finding out what was hiding behind her cough. Disability takes months to be accepted and time is so very important right now. We plan to use the funds raised towards her living/medical expenses and alternative treatment that will help lessen the wrath of chemo, and give us hope for more time with our Mom. 

This is our mother. Ya-Ya to Miss Dakota and Miss Fallyn. We want more time, more laughs, and more memories. We refuse to sit idly by while this beast takes over her body. She is the strongest woman we know and we are determined to fight this battle with her.
