Help Hannah Study Abroad in Taiwan

Hello, my name is Hannah Straney. I am a sophomore in the conservatory of dance at SUNY Purchase. Through an exchange program offered at our school a select few students have the chance to continue their dance training in a foreign country. I have received the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Taiwan during the fall 2015 semester. Studying at the Taipei National University of the Arts would give me the chance to take courses in Chinese opera, Kung fu, Chinese movement, and Chinese ballet, as well as continuing my studies in both modern and ballet. Studying abroad would also give me the opportunity to meet and dance alongside of students from around the world, creating a network of colleagues and fellow dancers across the globe. I am forever grateful and appreciative of this opportunity, and my family’s current financial situation is the only factor standing in my way .

I was born and raised in upstate New York, in a small town with a large family. My parents have worked very hard to support and provide for me and my three siblings. However the financial burden of the exchange program has been difficult for my family to shoulder. Here is where you come in. With your charitable contribution I will be able to study abroad for a semester in Taiwan. Please know that any donation, no matter how big or small, will help me advance one step closer to my goal.
