What is happening in Honduras?
A Category 4 Hurricane Eta hit Nicaragua this past November 3rd and continue to produce heavy rains on its way to Honduras. This storm weakened to a tropical depression; however, it has been life threating and has caused flooding over portions all over the country. Thousands of people have lost their everything they owned, leaving them homeless and with nowhere to go.
Honduras is a third world Central American country where a large percentage of the population lives in poverty. Faced with the COVID19 pandemic, many Hondurans were economically affected. The first week of November 2020, Hurricane Eta touched different areas of the Honduran territory, causing river overflows, landslides, bridge collapse and flooding. Faced with this situation, Honduras is going through a meteorological crisis and a health crisis. Among the consequences that it has brought to the population is: total loss of their homes, evacuation from endangered areas and relocation to shelter centers. Our Honduran brothers need our support. We will be infinitely grateful for each contribution, which will be used to purchase food and biosecurity implements.

Un huracán de categoría 4 Eta azotó a Nicaragua el pasado 3 de noviembre y continúa produciendo fuertes lluvias en su camino a Honduras. Esta tormenta se debilitó hasta convertirse en depresión tropical; sin embargo, ha sido una amenaza para la vida y ha causado inundaciones en partes de todo el país. Miles de personas han perdido todo lo que tenían, dejándolos sin hogar y sin ningún lugar adonde ir.
Honduras es un país Centroamericano tercermundista donde un gran porcentaje de la población vive en pobreza. Ante la pandemia por el COVID19 muchos hondureños se vieron afectados económicamente. La primera semana de noviembre 2020 el Huracán Eta tocó diferentes áreas del territorio hondureño causando desbordamientos de ríos, derrumbes, colapso de puentes e inundaciones. Ante esta situación, Honduras está pasando por una crisis meteorológica y de igual manera por una crisis sanitaria. Dentro de las consecuencias que ha traído a la población se encuentra: pérdida total sus hogares, desalojo de áreas en peligro y reubicación en centros de albergue. Nuestros hermanos hondureños necesitan con urgencia nuestro apoyo. Agradeceremos infinitamente cada aportación, la cual estará siendo utilizada para la compra de comida e implementos de bioseguridad.
