ኣነ ስመይ ማቴዎስ ኤልያስ ዝተበሃልኩ ኤርትራዊ ስነጥበባዊ-ቐባኣይ ናይታ "ሃገር ምቅርቲ ሃገር" HOME SWEET HOME ዘርእስታ ሓንቲ ካብተን ብኣማእት ዝቑጸር ኪነጥበባዊ ስረሓተይ ዝፍለጥ ኢየ።

ዋላኳ ኣብዚ ሃገር ኣመሪካ ንልዕሊ 25 ዓመታት እንተነበርኩ ሕማቕ ኣጋጣሚ ኮይኑ ሕጋዊ ናይ መንበሪ ፍቃድ ስለዘይነበረኒ ኩሉ መሰላት ተነፊጉኒ ኢየ ዝነበርኩ።

ቅድሚ ሓሙሽተ ዓመት ድማ ኣብ ርእሲ ዘላታ ተወሰኸታ ከምዝበሃል ብዘጋጠመኒ ሃንደበታዊ ወቕዒ /strock/ ምኽንያት ዋላኳ ብኣግኡ ህጹጽ ሕክምናዊ ረዲኤት ተገቢሩለይ ናይ እምላኽ ፍቓድ ውን ኮይኑ ብሂወት እንተተረፍኩ ፍርቂ ጎነይ ለሚሱ ኩሉ መዓልታዊ ምንቅስቓሰይ ርእሰይ ንኸይክእልን ጽግዕተኛ ንኽኸውንን ተገደድኩ። እቲ ዝኸፍእ ግን ብሰሪ ሕጋዊ ናይ መንበሪ ፍቓድ ዘይምህላወይ እቶም ከምዚ ናተይ ስንክልና ዘጋጠሞም ዜጋታት ዝግበረሎም ግቡእ ናይ ምእላይን ምግጋምን physical Therapy and rehabilitation/ ኣገልግሎት ተነፊጉኒ ኣብ ጸቢብ ክፍሊ 24 ሰዓታት ኣብ መዓልቲ 7 መዓልታት ኣብ ሰሙን ቁሩን ናይ ዓራት ኮይነ ካብ ሰበይ ተነጺለ ብጽምዋ ክነብር ተገዲደ። ኣብ ከምዚ ዝኣመሰለ ሂወት ብርግጽ ካብ ብዙሓት በተሰበይ የዕሩኽተይን ፈተውተይን ምስጋና ይኹኖም በብእዋኑ እንተስ ብእካል ዝብጽሑኒ እንተስ ብስልኪ ዘጸናንዑኒ ኣይተሳእኑን።

ሕጂ ግን ድሕሪ ነዊሕ ትዕግስትን ምጽማምን እቲ ዘለኹዎ ናብራ ምረቱ እናወሰኸ ብምኻዱ ናብታ ዝፈትዋ ሃገረይ ተመሊሰ ኣብኡ ምስ ዘለዉ ቤተሰበይን ኣዝማደይን ከምኡ ውን መላእ ሕብረተሰበይ ተጸምቢረ ብርሃን ጸሓያ እናተጸሎኹ ጥዑይ ንፋሳ እና ኣተንፈስኩ ነተን ተሪፈናኒ ዘለዋ ዕድመይ ብሰላም ክነብር ወሲነ ኣለኹ። "ምስ ህዝብካ መዓት ዳርጋ ጋዓት"

እሞኸ ነዚ ተበጊሰዮ ዘለኹ ናብ ሃገር ምምላስ ጉዕዞ እንታይ'ዩ ካባኹም/ካባኽን ዘድልየኒ?

**ኣብዚ ጉዕዞዚ ንነብሰይ ኩሉ ንዘሎኒ ናይ ስንክልና ኩነታት ዝግልገለሉ ዝተፈላለየ ንዋት፥መድሃኒታት ናይ ንጽሕና ኣቁሑን ገለ ካብ ናይ ስነጥበብ ስራሓተይ ንምግዓዝ ካብ ዓቕመይን ዓቅሚ ቤተሰበይን ንላዕሊ ብምኹኑ ኩሉኹም ፈተውተይን ፈለጥተይን ገበርቲ ሰናይ በብዓቕምኹም ሓገዝኩም ከተወፍዩለይ።

እዚ ጉዕዞ እዚ ዋላ ብቐሊሉካ ዝከኣል እንተዘይኮነ፡ ኣብ መንጎ ህዝበይን መቕርበይን፡ ብዓቢኡ ድማ ዝፈትዋ ሃገረይ ክሳብ መወዳእታ ክነብር ዝብል ናይ መወዳእታ ሕልሚይ ንኽበጽሕ ሓጉዙኒ!

Bring Me Home: Support My Journey Back to Eritrea

My name is Mathewos Elias, an Eritrean artist known for my painting "Home Sweet Home" a tribute to the country I hold dear. For over 25 years, I have lived in the United States, but my heart has always remained in Eritrea, the land I love.

Five years ago, I suffered a stroke that left me paralyzed and dependent on all my daily activities. By the grace of God and with medical care, I survived, but my recovery has been an uphill battle. Because I do not have residency statuses , I have been unable to access the full rehabilitation and long-term care I desperately need. Confined to a small room, bedridden around the clock, I have spent years longing for a chance to heal not just in body, but in spirit.

After much reflection, I have made a heartfelt decision: I want to return to Eritrea, where I can be among my people, under the sun of my homeland, breathing the air of the place I truly belong.

But the journey is beyond what I can afford. The costs of medical transport, travel arrangements, and resettlement are overwhelming for me and my family. That’s why I’m reaching out to you my friends, extended family, and compassionate strangers for support.
