Help India Breathe- Send Oxygen Concentrators Now

A devastating second wave of the coronavirus in India is causing many preventable deaths.
Driven by a lack hospital beds and essential medical supplies, especially pure oxygen, daily new positive cases and deaths have reached catastrophic levels. Literally, there are no hospital beds available and an acute shortage of pure oxygen persists. Patients are dying while waiting to get admitted into a hospital and because they have no access to oxygen cylinders or oxygen concentrators.

This week, in a 24-hour period, India recorded 412,262 new positive cases, and 3,980 deaths. The 7-day average of new positive cases is 385,856.

Join our mission and save lives by sending oxygen concentrators to India. As part of our relief efforts, we have begun purchasing and shipping oxygen concentrators from cities across the US to New Delhi, India. Our team of volunteer-physicians in India prioritize the needs of patients and deliver care based on who can be the helped most. Based on this prioritization, we schedule local delivery and installation of the Oxygen Concentrator at the home of the patient. When the patient recovers, we pick up the unit, sanitize it, and then it bring it to a new patient in need.

Our goal is to help and save as many people as we can. By donating to this cause, you can help us do that.

Prior to starting this campaign, we have already purchased and shipped several oxygen concentrators to India- we can and want to help more but we need your help to give people a fighting chance to survive by providing O2 concentrators.

Experts predict the greatest need and potential impact will be made in the next 45-60 days. Most oxygen concentrators manufacturers and sellers need a shipping lead time to India of 6-8 weeks, we have a plan and team are in place to move things much faster. As soon as funds are raised for the purchase and shipping of 1 or more machines, we will work tirelessly to make that happen as soon as possible.

How your money will be spent? 100% of the donations will go directly towards the purchase of oxygen concentrators, compatible BI-PAP machines, and shipping to India.

How can we contact you with questions or to recommend a patient in need of an oxygen concentrator? You can contact us at https://www.advatix.com/contact.php  reference GoFundMe in the subject line.

Does my donation impact whether or not my recommended patient will be chosen or their spot on the priority list? No. Donations do not impact your place on the priority list or who will be chosen. These decisions will be made by a volunteer team of India based doctors that will review those in need and determine the priority of the need based off who we can help most.

What type of machines will be sent? Currently, we are focusing on new, 5-liter oxygen concentrators purchased in the US. We have heard from friends and family in India that there are some inferior machines that people are purchasing and malfunction or do not work. The current preference is to minimize this risk as much as possible. Along with each concentrator, compatible BI-PAP machines, similar to those used in an ICU setup, will be sent. The BI-PAP machines work with the concentrators to help put pressurized oxygen into the lungs which help open up the lungs and increase oxygen levels.

How do I know my money is going where you say it is? Every time we purchase and ship new concentrators, we will post an update to this page.

Where will these concentrators be sent? Based off our volunteer team of India based doctors’ recommendations, concentrators will be shared in and around the New Delhi area. Given the urgency of need, and that these machines will need to be sanitized centrally, we need to limit our geographical service area.

What will happen to the concentrators after the need has lessened? We are still looking into how this will be handled. Our short- and long-term goal is to have the concentrators used as a resource for those in need. This is what will guide the final decision. We will update this page when a final decision is made. Have a recommendation? Please contact us at https://www.advatix.com/contact.php  reference GoFundMe in the subject line.

Who is funding the cost of the helpline, local delivery, and concentrator sanitization? Our Company, Advatix Inc, will cover all these costs. We want to help as many people in need as we can and are willing to put our money where our mouths are.

How much do oxygen concentrators and shipping cost? Currently, the cost of a new, 5-liter oxygen concentrator purchased and shipped from the US costs around $1500. We have heard from friends and family in India that there are some inferior machines that people are purchasing and malfunction or do not work. The current preference is to minimize this risk as much as possible.
