Oxygen for Bannu Hospital, Telangana, India

The need in India for oxygen and other supplies to support COVID patients is dire. Please consider supporting Bannu Hospital, serving the people of rural Telangana. The initial goal of the campaign is to raise money for enough oxygen concentrators to support the full use of all 25 ICU beds in the hospital.  

Bannu Healthcare was founded in 2016 with the goal of providing subsidized access to primary and secondary health care for the tribal people in this isolated region of India.

Led by Dr. Charanjit Reddy - an internist and native of Warangal city - Bannu has a well developed community primary care network as well as acute services available at two critical access hospitals. Bannu is staffed with local physicians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacy and other medical team members who now are focused on supporting the people of the region through this deadly wave of the pandemic.  

Oxygen (cylinders and concentrators) are the one missing critical resource needed by the team at Bannu to save lives and ease suffering.

Dr. Kyle Knuppel, a family medicine trained hospitalist, has been working in partnership with Dr. Reddy and the rest of the medical team at Bannu. Please see below for updates and a video about their current situation.

Proceeds from this campaign will be transferred to Dr. Reddy to donate directly to Bannu Inc. - a non-profit founded in 2011 by Dr. Reddy with a US office in Berlin, NH. All funds will be used to support the delivery of health care to patients of Bannu Health in Telangana, India. Purchases of equipment will be made by the Bannu clinical and admin team, led by Dr. Reddy.

The time delays in withdrawing funds from a campaign directly linked to Bannu Inc led us to fundraise with Dr. Reddy as an intermediary.
