Owens medical bills n rehab

My 18 month old son Owen suffered an acute onset of Encephalopathy from an unknown origin. He was a normal healthy 18 month old baby and suddenly one day woke up with swelling to his brain. Owen had become extremely lethargic and by the time he arrived at the emergencu room he was having seizures. After the first seizure Owen lost all muscle tone, his pupils became nonreactive, and he wouldnt wake up. The doctors ran 3 mris, a ct, 17 xrays, an ultrasound, 3 lumbar punctures, multiple blood tests, placed a picc line and had him on permanent EEG monitorin of his brain while in the ICU. After all these tests the doctors had no answers as to what attacked Owens left and right side of his brain leaving so much damage. Owen suffered multiple seizures that lasted from 20 mins to almost an hour at times. Some seizures would happen back to back. When Owen finally woke up he did not have control of his muscles and could only scream in pain. The doctors had to keep him sedated and start a medication .to help keep him calm. Owen has now began to recover and his swelling is decreasing. He has been almost 48 hours free of seizures now due to the medications he is on. He is now able to.eat on his own and is able to laugh and smile. He still has a long road of recovery to regain control of his muscles and to learn to walk again. Owen will have to go to rehab when he finally leaves the hospital and will.need medication daily. I am not one to ever ask for help but i know that my insurance will not cover alot of these medical exspenses from being here so long and for future appointments.
