Owen's Cancer Battle

Sweet, three year old Owen began suffering from severe leg pain several months ago, having week long episodes where he couldn’t walk. His brother Henry had previously suffered leg pain due to a rare disease that was eventually cured with a tonsillectomy. His parents naturally assumed Owen’s pain was due to the same issue and began working with a rheumatologist to address the pain. Tragically, the tests revealed that Owen has a tumor in his adrenal gland. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. The cancer has spread to his liver and bones, and more testing will be done this week to determine if it has spread to the lungs, lymph nodes, and bone marrow.

Our hearts are broken for little Owen and his amazing family. This battle is expected to last 12-18 months. Chemotherapy treatments will begin this Sunday. The Klemme family is forever grateful for the prayers, fasting, and acts of service on their behalf. We are with you, sweet Owen, until this awful cancer is defeated. As his mother quoted with so much emotion, “God needs brave sons.” Be brave, little cancer warrior!
