This campaign is for my son Santiago De La Cruz.
My family and I moved to California at the end of 2016 for educational purposes. With the recent fire out breaks (natural and criminal) the air guilty has caused my 13 month old who has asthma has been in a great deal of respiratory distress. He's been suffering on a daily basis to breathe. The Air quality has been a consistent issue and districts around the state issued warnings to stay indoors with windows shut, the air conditioner $$ running, and to limit outdoor activities. This has gone on all summer.

The daily fear of my child's health while I'm at work is taking it's toll. I read just yesterday scientists say ultimately that water "another human necessity" is in danger aswell. Ash, burned soil and toxic residue from incinerated houses, businesses and machinery can make their way into lakes, rivers and reservoirs . This is another scary thing we have coming our way if it hasn't already. I hesitated making this page because there are so many people suffering from the holy fire. I researched all options available to us but resources are very limited. we have no family in this area anymore for support.
We have been been stuck in hospital's, at home indoors or in hotels all summer. Sadly there aren't many indoor activities for toddlers available in this area. My older boys activities have a been cancelled. We are in a situation now where the fires don't really seem to have a beginning or end and conditions aren’t expected to improve we are in September and still fires are breaking out. This summer temperatures reached record breaking temperatures well into the triple digits, unpredictable winds that lead the holy fire into a disaster. We fear what next year will be like? It's so hard to believe people are intentionally setting fires. Last month the fire was in my front yard. After having to evacuate 2 times this year due to smoke inhalatin, fires out of control and my babies hospital stays.. I'm exhausted.. no child should have to suffer like this.
