Zoals je misschien wel op het nieuws of op social media hebt gehoord of gelezen, zijn er sinds twee weken heftige regenbuien geweest in Brazilië en Bolivia.
Ik heb veel Familie in Zuid-Amerika, en helaas ook in het getroffen gebied in Bahia.
Afgelopen tweede kerstdag is de situatie verslechterd door het doorbreken van twee dammen, waardoor meerdere dorpen binnen een paar uur onder water zijn gelopen.
Meer dan 4000 mensen zijn hun huis en daarbij hun spullen kwijtgeraakt, waaronder mijn tantes en nichtjes.
Zij hebben niets meer, geen dak boven hun hoofd en alle spullen die zij hadden zijn kwijtgeraakt of kapotgegaan in de overstromingen.
Ze verblijven nu bij vrienden die hogerop woonden, maar dat is natuurlijk tijdelijk.
Ik zou mijn familie en kennissen in de buurt van Bahia graag helpen met een bedrag van 5000 euro.
Dit is lang niet genoeg om weer een huis te bouwen of te kopen, maar misschien wel genoeg voor eten, kleding, meubels en dergelijke als ze weer een plek gevonden hebben om te wonen.
Ik heb zelf ook niet veel, vandaar dat ik een Gofundme ben begonnen.

As you may have heard or read on the news or on social media, Brazil and Bolivia have been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past two weeks.
I have many family in South America, and unfortunately also in the affected area in Bahia.
Last Boxing Day, the situation worsened with the breaching of two dams, flooding several villages within a few hours.
More than 4,000 people have lost their homes and belongings, including my aunts and nieces.
They have nothing left, no roof over their heads and all the belongings they had have been lost or destroyed in the floods.
They now stay with friends who lived higher up, but that is of course temporary.
I would like to help my family and acquaintances near Bahia with an amount of 5000 euros.
This is not nearly enough to build or buy a house again, but perhaps enough for food, clothing, furniture and the like once they have found a place to live again.
I don't have much myself, that's why I started a Gofundme.
