Yesterday 2429 survivors of gender-based violence applied to us for cash assistance. Today we need your help.
On Thursday November 19th, we released our second round of our Safety Fund Grants for survivors of gender-based violence who need cash to make ends meet and stay safe right now. Our priority in this round is to support survivors who are Black, Latinx, Native/Indigenous, Queer and/or Trans as our data shows that they are at greater risk physically and financially during COVID-19.
In just 12 hours, we received over 2429 requests for support and had to close our application. This speaks to how much survivors are impacted by COVID-19 and all the events of this year, in addition to the financial insecurity and harm they were already facing.
We only have the funds to support 1800 survivors but we know that, with your support, we’ll be able to close the gap. Our donors have made miracles happen over the years with everyone giving what they can even if it is just $10.

"I’m struggling to not sleep in my car with my two children. I don’t have anyone to turn to who hasn’t been affected by COVID-19. I am staying away [from my harmdoer], but I am worried that it will mean sleeping in my car with my babies indefinitely just to stay away from my abuser."
