Ovarian Cancer Canada /AKH Nairobi
Donation protected
Hi everyone !
I was diagnosed with Stage 1 ovarian cancer in September 2018, and for the duration of my treatments until January , I am running a fundraising campaign that focuses on ovarian cancer research and advocacy, and help of cancer patients in developing countries.
Ovarian cancer is typically diagnosed late and has low survival due to low awareness and research funding (I’m one of the very lucky ones at stage 1 undergoing chemo with very good prognosis ) but Ovarian Cancer Canada is positioned well to help improve the survival situation with research and advocacy. They need our support to ensure less women die from this disease.
Because of socioeconomic challenges, cancer patients in developing countries have huge issues impacting their diagnosis - the number one issue being a lack of access to great healthcare . That’s why most cancer patients who get diagnosed in many developing countries aren’t curable. The Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi is well positioned to improve access to cancer care in Kenya - and they also need our support.
Half the proceeds raised in this gofundme will go to Ovarian Cancer Canada for ovarian cancer advocacy, support and research.
The other remaining half of the proceeds will go to Aga Khan Foundation Cancer Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
Please feel free to provide a minimum value (0.50 or 1.00) tip to Gofundme for their services.
Thank you ,
Shellyza
