Ovarian cancer medical costs support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rhian and I’m fundraising for a life saving operation. I was diagnosed in April 22 after having a blood test with a high CA125 blood test marker of over 2000, which is an indicator of ovarian cancer. At the time the only symptom I had was frequent urination and then a slight pain in my hip which I didn’t relate to a symptom of Ovarian cancer. I’ve been through numerous tests before starting Chemotherapy on June 13th. I expected to be operated on via the NHS after my 4th round of chemo, but this has not happened as expected. Due to these delays I have done my own research and I have discovered a professor of gynaecological cancer, who gave me the best prognosis and advice. This has not been an easy decision as the initials costs of this are £30,000 approx.
This operation will allow me to extend my life and in hope that during this time that new drugs or treatments become available in the UK to help women like myself.
Thank you for any donations, I am so grateful for any contribution. Once I am feeling better I intend doing my own fundraising to give back in the future to others in my position.
