Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary Needs A Tractor

Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary (OFAS) is a family-run, 501(c)3 non-profit vegan farm sanctuary located in North Georgia. OFAS is home to hundreds of unwanted, abused, neglected, and now rescued farm animals. The majority of OFAS residents are pigs, but the sanctuary is also home to: goats, cows, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, geese, and a rescued bunny.

Entering our fifth year of operations, there has been one vital piece of equipment we need and can no longer ignore. We NEED a tractor. The day-to-day farm and animal care is done by the founding family: Dan, Corrine, and our three children, Mara, Porter, and Eisley. Dan is the muscle behind everything. We go through over 5000 pounds of animal food and hay a week, all of which is unloaded in large volumes at a time, by hand. Projects like fencing and construction are all currently done with backbreaking, long hours of manual labor and rented equipment.

Round bales are the most economical way to feed hay and provide bedding to the number of animals we have, but we do not have a tractor to move the hay around the farm. Recently, we were offered 14 amazing quality round bales of hay but could not accept the donation due to the lack of a tractor.

The time saved by being able to move materials and food around the farm while conserving energy for the days that are already long and rigorous, would be life changing. Having a tractor would also mean that volunteers who are not necessarily as strong or athletic as Dan, can still help with tasks and projects with the assistance of the tractor.

We have a lot of work to do to make our sanctuary the best home it can be to all of the animals, but we cannot do it without your support. We have had an amazing offer come across path for a heavy duty, large tractor, discounted thousands of dollars, in hopes that we can purchase it for our sanctuary. We need to raise the funds within 30 days or someone else may have the opportunity to buy it first.

If we do not reach our goal and the tractor is sold before we have the funds, the funds we do raise, will be placed in a savings account specifically for the purpose of purchasing the next large tractor we can find to work best on our Sanctuary!
