Outlaw’s Roots

Hey everybody,
My name is Holly Matthis and I am fundraising to develop an organization for Duplin County called Outlaw’s Roots.
Outlaw's Roots will be an after school and summer program designed to counter act the growing drug addiction issue in Duplin County through the strategy of early intervention. Outlaw's Roots will provide a safe space and educational center for children and youth where they can learn good life skills and how to make good life choices.
How Outlaw's Roots plans on doing this is by providing a place for kids to disconnect from technology and reconnect with their "roots" through the healing power of gardening, bee keeping, and other nature related activities. The idea is to instill the forgotten values from past generations but in a way that works with our current way of life.
I’ve seen how our community has been falling apart due to drug addiction. If our community is like a tree, we must heal at the root (the kids) to ensure the future tree of our community is still standing. I believe Outlaw’s Roots is just the thing the world needs to initiate that healing.
Outlaw’s Roots will be located in Mount Olive on Summerlins Crossroads Rd on a property called “Outlaw’s House and Store” that includes “Norman Outlaw’s Pond”.
Outlaw’s Roots has plans to redevelop the property in a way that positively impacts the quality of life in the surrounding area while keeping the agricultural historical integrity of the neighborhood.
Donate to Outlaw’s Roots today!
Now is the time to invest in a better tomorrow.
Your support is valued as much as it is vital to the legal development of Outlaw’s Roots. ❤️
Once legally recognized, Outlaw’s Roots can be rewarded County and State grants for development! I just need your help getting there.
Please and Thank You!
Sincerely,
Holly Matthis
