Outlaw Needs Help

UPDATE: The laparoscopy came back. He does not have stomach cancer, which is fantastic. Nor does he need the surgery, which is also fantastic. But he still needs help. The stomach swelling was due to fluid; it's been removed. After biopsies they determined he has intestinal and esophageal issues that are wreaking havoc through his system. He's been given a feeding tube through his nose that will need to be there for a few weeks before he'll be able to eat solid food again and he'll be staying overnight at the vet (Pieper Memorial). This still costs much more than we can afford and we need help still but much less than initially believed, and now that we know, it's a huge load off of us. Thank you to everyone who has donated and please please keep sharing and helping as much as you can. It kills me to ask for money but Outlaw needs it. You're literally saving his life from being ended by something that's fixable. We love you all and Outlaw loves you too.

Outlaw is a 7 year old Aussie Cattle Dog mix who came into our lives almost exactly 7 years ago. He's the greatest dog in the world and I really don't know how much else to say about that.

He was left alone while we went out for Memorial Day weekend; He's got a sweet setup in our hallway with a gate to keep him confined. He's got a bit of seperation anxiety and he lets us know he misses us by tearing up all the trash he can find, so this works out perfectly; he's confined safely.

Apparently while we were gone, one of the cats decided it wasn't fair for him to be locked up like that with nothing to do, so they brought him a chew toy with a squeaker. (Probably just were playing with it themselves, it was a little small, but it's funny to think about.) Long story short he ate part of the squeeaker and it got stuck in his gut. He hasn't been able to keep anything down or pass anything. He went in for surgery yesterday morning, they gave him steroids to get the stomach swelling down. 99 times out of 100, that works. It didn't.

I don't know how much this is going to cost. We're looking at at least 5-6 thousand. He's an amazing dog with a lot of life left to live. We need help. We've already lost 2 dogs in the last 2 years (Our Meera (boxer mix) to a kidney birth defect and Jack (the epileptic Shepherd) to a severe cluster seizure.) Please help as much as you can.
