Outdoor Piano Concert @ SF Palace of Fine Arts

Donation protected
A first-of-its-kind outdoor piano concert (that aims to turn into a concert series), hosted at one of the most attractive landmarks of San Francisco, the Palace of Fine Arts.

This is a free cultural event, open to the public.
Website: www.pianoatthepalace.com
RSVP: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/piano-at-the-palace-sf-palace-of-fine-arts-tickets-151537445579

This project has three objectives:

1. Bring access to free, live piano concerts to the San Francisco public, during the COVID-19 pandemic, in a safe, outdoor environment.
2. Celebrate the union between classical piano music, and the architecture of the Palace of Fine Arts. While most outdoor concerts risks the danger of sound being lost to the surroundings, the open rotunda at the Palace of Fine Arts helps reflect the acoustics. It should be recognized as an optimal choice for outdoor concert venues, especially for acoustic, non-amplified instruments.
3. This concert will be recorded with a high quality production level, and the recording will be marketed and distributed on multiple platforms. This helps support the culture of piano performance in the Bay Area, by expanding the reach of classical piano music - from conventional concert halls, to unconventional venues in daily lives.

Covid-19 public health mandates
All personals on site - crew, audience, observers - must wear face coverings at all times, and maintain a social distance of 6 feet. The concert will be held on a weekday to avoid the large crowds over the weekend. Maximum capacity of 50 audience members, screened before entering. An Eventbrite RSVP page will be used to estimate the size of our crowd, once the quota is reached, we recommend those who could not sign up to stay at home. Audience members advised to bring cushions or folding chairs for self-seating (following our seating map), and layers of blanket in case the Marina becomes windy.

A big thank you ahead...
We have come a long way since March 2020. While San Francisco is leading the rest of the country in their COVID-19 response, thanks to the diligence and awareness of SF residents, we miss the cultural life. Both the artists and the audience have missed live performances - while streaming online concert is the next best thing we have, the pianists would love to get out there and connect with the public, mask to mask!
I see in this pandemic, a need for cultural events that that imposes low public health risks. Since my first visit to Palace of Fine Arts at the age of 10, I have always had a vision: a beautiful grand piano sitting under the open rotunda, serenading passersby with music, while they feel rays of sunlight and breezes of wind in their hair.
The challenge has always been the transportation of the piano instrument; which has made outdoor piano performances a rare treat. In the coming true of my vision, I will be able to give back to the city of San Francisco an option to attend a safe and live piano performance, while the concert recordings continues to promote the support for public outdoor piano performances around the Bay Area.

Any amount helps! Please spread the message to your friends and family.
