WE HAVE A LOCAL MILITARY VETERAN IN GREAT NEED… Maybe a way we can Honor our Fallen at this time around Memorial Day is to help in 'Their Honor' one of the living... I'm certain they would approve...
I met through a family friend a gentleman by the name of Bob Bauer and he is a local Saint Marys man, our hometown blood. He is a proud Veteran of our Armed Forces, a great husband and father. One of his littles had Cancer years ago and they fought through that too. The reason I am coming to you, is because Bob was struck with Lymes Disease which does not allow him to work – he is not even supposed to drive, he has formed lesions on the brain, his memory is not good and he has given me permission to tell his story. He is out of work, and his Social Security benefits of course have been denied. He is appealing that and it will take up to 18 months to get a hearing… I have met with him and his situation is very bleak and desperate. He is struggling financially and also emotionally due to the feeling of not being able to provide for his family. This is one WE NEED TO SUPPORT, he is struggling even with the basic essentials for living. This is NOT acceptable to me as he has served his Country, got sick and now the system is dragging its feet to help him and his family. WE NEED YOUR HELP. As you can realize, this is not a pleasant time or feeling for the Bauer Family, no one likes to ask for help - and quite frankly they have not. BUT, as we all know, family takes care of family and we ALL need support from time to time. This is the time to make a huge impact on this wonderful family and help take some weight off of them. If everyone gives a little, they can dig out from the crushing weight that is upon them and Bob can focus on getting better and healthier. I SO appreciate all of your kindness, support and love towards this family.
