Our FIGHTER - Cecelia Jensen

4 years ago, my grandmother Cecelia found three lumps in her breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought harsh chemo and radiation treatments and was officially named a Survivor.
A couple weeks ago, my grandmother sat all 8 of her children down and notified them that she found a lump the size of a tennis ball in her armpit. After a meeting with a doctor, my grandmother and our family were met with devastating news: my grandmother’s cancer had spread everywhere in her chest, including her clavicle.
My grandmother has started chemotherapy and goes in for regular checkups and scans. Instead of spending her days resting, she is constantly on the phone fighting with insurance companies because they are refusing to pay for the treatment she needs. My grandparents, Tom and Cecelia, have been supporting their family with love, kindness, and anything else they may need. Although my grandmother has been faced with an extremely difficult challenge, she continues to light up our world with her glowing smile and contagious laugh. She offers up all her suffering to our Lord. “She’s a tough cookie” (in the words of one of her beautiful grandchildren). After providing support for so many over the years, my grandparents are now in need of support, emotionally and financially. They would appreciate all the love and support that they can receive. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my grandmother’s journey and the hardship our family has been faced with. God Bless.
