Our Snowdon Climb for Michael

On Saturday 23rd April 2022, Nat, Jenny and Jade are going to climb the highest mountain in Wales…. Snowdon.

We have decided to take on this challenge to raise money for an incredible young man, Michael Barlow. Below is Michael’s story:

Towards the end of 2021, aged 27, Michael was diagnosed with oral cancer. As a result of this Michael underwent an 18.5 hour surgery whereby he had to have a full glossectomy (surgical removal of the tongue) as well as 1cm of his jawbone removed. He also has to undergo 6 weeks of radiotherapy and 5 sessions of chemotherapy, of which he is half way through.

The strength and bravery Michael has shown throughout his journey has been incredible and inspirational and he continues to fight on.

Michael works as a Nursing Assistant at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, however due to his illness is unable to work at present. After giving so much of his time caring for patients we only thought it fitting that we (as nhs employees also) raise as much money as we can to hopefully aid financially towards Michael’s recovery.

We would love to raise as much money as we can for an amazing young man! We welcome any donation no matter how big or small. We just want to try and put a little smile on such an incredible young man’s face.
