The last couple of days we noticed a change in Daisy's behavior and had set an appointment to see a veterinarian. However, when my wife came home in-between clients today to check on Daisy her condition had become much worse. I left work early to meet Kat and Daisy at a local vet. They told us because they closed in an hour they couldn't treat her, and sent us to an animal hospital that is supposed to me open 24/7. Upon arrival we were told that because of covid protocols, for a five day period starting yesterday, they could not staff their hospital over night, and because they were closing in TWO hours they also couldn't treat Daisy and sent us to a third hospital!
Several cities away and hours into our ordeal we were informed of a battery of tests that would need to be performed before we can even know what's wrong with our sweet, little Daisy who is only nine-months old. To the tune of $6000 just to start. I know some of you will probably say what's the point with a pet. I know that even more of you know that it's not just a pet but a member of our family. I'm asking people from both groups to look beyond that and know that there are two little boys who love their dog and two full-grown adults who's hearts will break if there was anything we could've done to save her, but we couldn't afford to because of these difficult times we are all living in. The pandemic has put an incredible strain on each of our budgets individually but I know that as group we can put a little bit together and make a big difference as a whole. Thank you for blessing our family.
