our mother with medical bills

Donation protected
Throughout my life, my mom has been the rock of the family. She never asks for help from others and is always finding ways to bring joy and assistance to others. She has always worked hard to take care of everyone in our family, being there for each of us in times of need. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Unfortunately now, it is time for us to do the same for her.

Late last year in November, she started experiencing chest pain, and after multiple doctor and ER visits, a PET scan revealed a malignant tumor. She received a pretty extensive surgery to remove the tumor last week, and she stayed longer than expected due to low oxygen levels. During this time, she is unable to work due to recovery. High co-pays and medical bills are piling up as you read this, which is taking a toll on her mentally, as she fears she will be unable to ever recover from this debt. We are still waiting for further results of the mass to determine the next treatment options.

My mom is everything I hope to become as a person and hope to be in the future. She somehow always manages to do a million things at a time with a smile on her face. She is strong, selfless, caring, helpful, and has a huge heart. My mom is the type of person to stop on the side of the road to give money to the homeless, teaching all of us the power of compassion. I honestly don't know how she handles everything while keeping her spirit up.

However, these past few months have been trying to say the least. At this point, I want her to be able to focus on her recovery, but as always, she is worried about us. I worry that the financial toll that the medical bills have taken will force her back to work sooner than she should, and will create added stress that will impact her physical health. The road to recovery will be long, but this is our opportunity to gather around her in support as we reflect on the amazing compassion she has shown us throughout our lives.

On behalf of my family, we are eternally grateful for any support you can provide in this difficult time.
