My name is Yvonne, the eldest sister of our Mal and aunty to his 6 children.

On New Year’s Eve, our family suffered a devastating loss with the sudden passing of my younger brother, Mal, He was a much-loved brother to myself, Yvonne, my sister Jen, and my brother Eddie, and a devoted son to our mum, Sheila. We are all heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with life without him.

Mal leaves behind five children, all still so young. They are all young teenagers, including two young sons who are still of school age and 4 daughters, 3 of whom are expecting all around 3 mths pregnant . His grieving partner who cares for there youngest boy Jacob. loosing their dad at such a crucial time in their lives has been absolutely devastating. He was their rock, their constant, and their biggest support.

As a family, we are facing this loss with deep grief, but also with financial hardship. There was no funeral insurance in place. We have managed to secure £1,000 towards funeral costs, but sadly this does not cover everything, and there is still so much to do.

Our wish is to give Mal a respectful and dignified send-off, one that his children can look back on and feel proud of — a goodbye that reflects the love he gave and the man he was. At the moment, this feels overwhelming, both emotionally and financially.
