Our little Super Hero Ethan

Hi, we are Kat and Dan, parents of our beautiful brown eyed boy Ethan. On 1st July 2021, our world came crashing down when Ethan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as a Wilms Tumour. To hear the words "your child has cancer" is every parent's nightmare and is truly devastating. From this day onwards, we have followed a regimented treatment plan of chemotherapy, scans, routine appointments and a gruelling 7 hour operation to remove the tumour and left kidney that it was attached to. We are now just starting out on stage 2 of the treatment plan. We know that it will be a bumpy 34 weeks of even more chemo, routine appointments and hospital stays.

We have cried rivers throughout our journey so far and felt emotionally weak more than we ever thought possible. However, our little superhero Ethan has given us so much strength and most of all hope. We are immensely proud of him, what he has coped with so far and how his resilience is something to be admired. Under the medical care and knowledge of both Queen Alexandra Hopsital and Southampton General, we are confident Ethan we will get to ring that bell and get back to being a child again.

Thank you so much to the support of Three Cuts Burgers in Portsmouth who are hosting a charity night on our behalf to raise money for the charities attached to the 2 wards. It will be an amazing night in the hope of raising as much awareness and financial aid as we can.
