Our little Amazing Grace

Donation protected

It all started Valentine's day where Melissa went to the doctor's to get checked out and see why she was having some back and pelvic pain. Which in few minutes of being at the doctor's office they realize that Melissa was in labor. So the doctor's moved Melissa to the OB and a short time after decided it was best to sent Melissa to Rochester for the safety of Melissa and Grace. On the way to Rochester in the ambulance everything went from being stable to critical. When arriving at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, a ultrasound was done to find that Grace was breech so a emergency C-section was done and Grace arrived @ 2:00 pm on 2-14-18. She was born at 4lbs 9 oz ,16 3/4 in long , and 10 weeks early. Melissa's C-section went very well and Grace was taking away by NICU staff to help her out. Around 5:30 pm on the 14th Jermy and Melissa got to see Grace for the first time before she was moved to St. Mary's NICU to get help with her breathing and all other medicine help due to premature birth. After 18 hours being in the NICU Grace went from needing 100% help with oxygen to 51% then on 2-15-18 afternoon Grace went to only needing 28% help and her over all health was going well. On 2-16-18 Friday evening Grace developed P.I.E which is Pulmonary Interstitial Emphysema is it a air leaks out of the airways into spaces between the small air sacs of the lungs. Grace was then placed on her left side and the oxygen level was raised a little to 28% to help her a little more so she doesn't have to work so hard herself also they have gave her more medicine to keep her sleepy and comfortable. Grace is very strong fighter and that's all the nurses keep telling us.

On March 5, 2018... I know it has been a while since we gave everyone a update on Grace!! Our little sweetheart got moved from INCU to the ISCN! We are excited she moved because we can stay right in her room with her!!! But with the move Grace is having some troubles with her breathing and heart rate. Everyone working with Grace says this is something most preterm babies go though but it is ever hard on mommy and daddy to watch her go though these moments with not helping her out! PLEASE continue to pray for our little girl!!! Results on March 9,2018 has a UTI and will be staying in the NICU until further notice. We are asking for funds to help Melissa and Jermy with Travel expenses, food and medical for Grace.
