Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page. We are here to tell our story and build a community. Here is a little about us and our journey. We are Matt and Sam Badeau. We live in a beautiful house with our dog, Jack in Colorado Springs. We have been married for 5 years and loving life. Sam is in her 7th year as a special education teaher. Matt is a carpenter at a local small business that builds custom dog kennels. We enjoy spending time with our friends and family outside in the beautiful state we live in.
In this life we experience moments of joy, adventure, love and at times difficult trials. The recent journey we are on has been starting a family. We have been trying to have a child for two and a half years with no success. We decided to seek medical advise at a local fertility clinic to find answers to some of our questions. . . Can we physically have children? What is the probability of us conceiving a child? Is the only way to have a child through adoption? Do we have to accept not having childern at all? As the test results came in and treatment consaultations concluded, they have brought us both difficulty at times and also hope for our future family.
After multipe visits and tests at the fertility clinic we have been presented with the blessing of conceiving our first child through IVF (In Vetro Fertilization). One in every ten couples have some form of infertility struggle. This news to us has been a blessing in disguise in that we finally have the answers we have been waiting for. We also see it as a position to support and love on other couples going through similar struggles with infertility.
GoFundMe's mission is to provide a social platform for people to come together in a community to support those around them through fundraising. We believe the most important part of that is the COMMUNITY of people and that amazing things can happen within that COMMUNITY.
As our friends and family, we would love for you to be a part of this journey along side us in COMMUNITY. Reading our story is just the beginning! We would first ask you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks and months. The power of prayer has been proven to us that it can make amazing things happen in times of trial and difficulty. We have also started a blog on Tumblr that we will update regularly as we travel on this journey. It is titled, "A Journey to Grow Our Family" We would also ask that as you pray and read about our story you would consider supporting our GoFundMe finnacially. The IVF procedure costs $10,000. This includes the medication and the whole procedure of fertilizing the eggs, growing an embryo and the inplantation of the embryo. If you feel led to give know that any amount of suport will make a huge difference to us and our family. We would ask that no one would give more than what they can afford, we dont want you to be put in a difficult situation because you supported us.
Lastly, we want to thank our COMMUNITY of friends and family that have showed us incredible love and support up to this point in our journey. We also want to thank YOU (anyone reading this!) that you took the time to hear about our story and are now part of our COMMUNITY. We would also love to hear your story, whatever that is because we believe that within COMMUNITY anything can happen.
