Our Journey to Baby W

Donation protected

Hello friends and family!
Steph and I have two amazing children, as you all know, and we love them very much. We are really loving watching them grow and enjoy being a positive influence in their lives as they mature and discover who they are as young people. Being a parent is a blessing and we try not to take any day with them for granted. With that being said, we'd like to add more to our family. After 5 years of marriage, we're even more in love with each other, conquering challenges and obstacles that many young couples face, particularly conceiving: or not. This is a look into our journey to do that, and where you, our closest friends and family can be a part of it with us.
OUR STORY:
Some of you may know more about our story and struggles than others, so we will do a recap on what we have been going through for the past 6 1/2-7 years. We started out with the "well if it happens it happens" phase. We didn't want a huge gap in between our kids so we thought "let's get started early!", so we did that phase for a few years. After no luck, we decided to do some testing and found out that we would most likely need IVF (for more information on IVF click here) to have a baby of our own. At that time we weren't ready to invest the resources and energy it would take for us to get pregnant with IVF, we just wanted to know what we were up against, but we never gave up hope trying to conceive naturally. After many more months of trying we finally decided to do a surgical procedure that could help with the problem. About a year and a half after the procedure we got pregnant! Although we didn't know it at the time, and miscarried. That replanted some faith that it could happen for us!
It's been a year and a half since that time and nothing further has happened. The let down every month is very frustrating, to say the least, SOO: in November we decided that we need to step this up and try to seriously have a baby. We decided that if by January we still weren't pregnant, that we would call the fertility doctor and make a plan. While our plan is a great plan, it's a very costly one. Unfortunately our insurance does not cover anything. Everything that we need to do has to come out of our pocket. Another huge reason we have continued to put this off is that it seems there's always something that comes up and pushes this hope back another year or two. It is very humbling to seek out this help, both from a specialist and from you, our friends and family.
OUR NEED:
Over the last year we have experienced some hardships and struggles that have made us want this even more. We realize that life is very short and unpredictable and we just don't want to wait any longer! To cut to the chase, at the office that we have found and gotten to know, it is roughly $15,000 for IVF. $12,000 goes toward the procedure, medications and tests, and $3,000 goes toward preserving eggs not transferred (to use later for more babies!) ALL of the $12,000 must be paid at the time we start the IVF medication process. We understand that this may seem like a huge and overwhelming number, and that we must be absolutely looney to ask for help with this. However we feel that we surround ourselves with people who love and care about us and would do anything they could to help us. With your help we know we can make this happen! We're not only asking for a monetary donation, we are asking for prayers and support as we head into this extremely exciting, extremely terrifying adventure.
OUR PLAN:
The first 3-6 months involve testing and birth control to regulate ovulation to best pinpoint an egg retrieval date. We are starting this process now!! We have a tentative IVF medication start month of September 2014, when the $12,000 is due. This may seem like an aggressive schedule to many of you, but remember, we've been trying for seven years, we're not getting younger, and (Steph writing) "my body has a time limit!" :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and learn a little bit about our family. Please feel free to ask us questions if you have them! We want to be open with our progress and involve you as much as you want to be!
Steph and Adam

P.S. from Adam: I have learned so much since coming into Ben and Becka's lives. About family, about love, about trust, and about consistency. Being their everyday dad is something I'm very proud of. I've had the fortune to experience so many of their firsts and yet there are many memories of them that I don't get to share with Steph. I'd like the opportunity to experience everything, from the beginning, the very beginning.
