Help our Pescadero youth displaced by wildfires

Tax deductible
Heirs To Our Oceans' Pescadero Chapter located in Pescadero CA is in a community that is experiencing climate crisis devastation with wildfires burning, displacing persons from their work, and consuming their homes amidst the COVID crisis.

The youth of Heirs To Our Oceans are “unstoppable” -- that is how they approach the challenges they are inheriting on this planet due to policy and business decisions that aren’t contributing to the greater good nor to the life and health of the next generation.

They are “unstoppable” until they are stopped by being imminently in harm’s way due to the effects of the climate crisis -- disastrous storms, wildfires, extreme weather, drought.

Right now, these youth need the help of the adults in the room, as the government charged with protection of its citizens is not stepping up to relieve the life-threatening emergencies arising from their self-dealing policies.

From Heir Aislinn, 16 yrs old, in Pescadero, CA, evacuated, where fires still burn to threaten her house a mile away.

"It seems that whenever climate change is talked about, it is referred to as a looming threat. A great impending problem, but one that has not quite reached us. However, more and more, we have faced the effects that climate change is having in real-time, on our communities, our friends, and our families. These fires are not simply the result of 2020 being a rough year, they are the culmination of our human impacts on the environment around us. In these uncertain and disquieting times, I urge you all not only to stay safe, but also to take action. What has happened to us should not be allowed to happen again. Now is the time to take bold new steps, to think outside the box, and work together to move towards a future not bright with lightning and flames, but with the strong leadership and effective solutions of our youth voices."

As of today, the full extent of the families' needs are unknown; but we do know this; the members of the H2OO families need help with things like rent, food, boarding for pets and other necessities due to the disaster. Every penny collected in this campaign will go to supporting necessities for these families to get back on their feet. Excess funds, if any, will go to the Puente Emergency Fire Relief Fund for South Coast Families.

Please give what you can to this Crisis Fund for the Pescadero Community.  All funds will go directly to the H2OO families experiencing displacement due to this emergency, prioritizing those who have already lost their homes.
