We lost half of our hospital!

Our building wasn’t in a flood zone. During previous hurricanes we’ve had an inch or 2 of water, but even during Matthew, we were bone dry. We planned for what we thought was the worst: boarded up, everything off the floor and on the counters, chickens and tortoises inside, high up and safe. But there’s been some development around us, and there are a lot fewer trees than there were just this Spring. We never expected THREE AND A HALF FEET of water to rush through the doors. Or for some one to try to break those doors down and rob us while we were evacuated. 

We we lost all of our surgical equipment, our beautiful digital Xray machine, all of our dentistry equipment, our boarding areas, our prep and grooming area, our break area, our offices with all of our personal things, and our well-loved and used doctors’ library with hundreds of books. 

The damage is in in the hundreds of thousands. 

We haven’t wanted to ask for money: so many people have it worse. But people have asked. They don’t want to wait. They want us to reopen fully. They know insurance won’t cover it all and may take months. 

So we will lovingly and gratefully accept your help. Anything that exceeds what insurance pays we will put in our Good Samaritans fund which helps pets and owners in need.
