Hello Friends, I'm Mary and my husband is Daniel G. We are brokenhearted about this. Our situation is really bad for us like never experienced. We desperately need your help. In just 11 days we will be homeless and no where to turn. Now our Tahoe is undriveable so we have major problems that will cost $3260 to fix. It's the only thing we have in and Dan needs it to get to job interviews. I'm on SS Disability and this stress has done havoc on us. I have no alternative or options to ask you for helo. Any amount will be a blessing for us.
You may ask why I am not listing our last name. Mainly because Dan is looking for a job and we don't what that to hinder his opportunities.
OUR STORY
My husband is 63 and can't find a job here in CA. He's told hes "over qualified" which is because he's 63 but even other companies flat out tell him they want someone younger. He's spend 10 hours or more a day looking since February 15, 2018. Even got to the executive interview from a huge hospital with a past Sr VP from a past interview saying hes a MUST HIRE tet they passed him by but have continued to post the same job listing o er and over again for 5 times. He keeps applying as nd now they dont call at all. This just a sample of the hardship its created. Then...
Our landlord took us to court to break the lease so she can sell the house. We had a lease until March 2019 but she lied to the court that it wasn't her signature. We even got the best handwriting expert at a great discount who verified it was her signature but his report was denied by the Judge as evidence because we couldn't pay the $1600 fees to get the expert to court to testify. Bottomline, she lied and the judge broke the lease. We were suppose to be out by August 28th but we filed for an extension and the judge approved it. We have to vacate on Sept 10th. Rents here have doubled or tripled. Our current 4 bedroom house is renting from $1800-2500 plus Deposit and pet deposit. A 2 bedroom apartment is $1500-1800. Mobile home rent and lot prices are skyrocketing, even houses in high crime areas are really high. Its all about money.
The main problem is Dan can't find a job so we can't qualify for a house or anything and our credit is shot from no job.
ABOUT US
I wonder how can this happen. Dan has a Master's degree and owned a Marketing Research firm writing marketing and business plans and self taught himself and became a Certified Microsoft Solutions Engineer all on his own. I owned a clothing and jewelry business in Dallas for 10 years and more recently been a photographer. (Marebeth Photography on Facebook). Then we both together had a multimedia business until I broke my back in 2008 and in a full body brace for 5 mo and 15 mo in a hospital bed. Dan was my full time Caregiver for a year. We both have had great success and we're both workaholics at anything we do. But here we are now fighting from being homeless.
CURRENTLY
We are putting everything on storage except vitals. We have a tent thank goodness. Always thought it for camping not living. It has been a daunting task to go thru 14 yrs of stuff plus Dan's dad and sisters stuff, photography stuff and clothing and props (lots of both), my business stuff from Dallas and jewelry supplies, Dan's computer business, our joint biz, church stuff, Christmas crazy amount of stuff, fireworks and car show stuff and food bank stuff. crazy. We've now made 24 loads +uhaul furniture has truckload to thrift stores. We've been giving food, clothing and other stuff to some homeless nearby. But right now we also need to think about us. We are literally exhausted and hurt daily all over but we keep pushing to get it all packed and out. If you can help us, it would be greatly appreciated and help us to get back on our feet faster. Our Christmas House with 150k lights (See Christmastyme.com on Facebook) touched thousands of people even reaches worldwide on INVASION OF THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and we helped thousands over the last 14 years with our Toy and Food Drive, which we still do every year. We've had CAR SHOW Fundraisers to help our Destiny Food Bank and needy kids with toys at Christmas. Our car show on Facebook is Kars for Kids Car Shows. We've helped thousands with food and toys without selling food or asking to be paid. We have led a lot of people to change the course of their lives. I've helped a lot of Photographers through my photography group Shoot or Go Home in Sac and the San Francisco Bay regions learn more and build their portfolios so they can become experts in their field. It's all been rewarding and we wouldn't trade it. But here we are in this dire crisis. We have always km now God watches over us and also know people are led to help. If you look these pages up on FB you will see who we are and what we do.
No matter what, we serve a God who cares and wants the best for us...to Prosper and be in good health. God cares for you too. We will continue to help the needy and down and out. It's who we are.
