Our Hawaiian Superman

“Auuuuright!” His response to everything while holding his ukulele on his lap, listening to Braddah Iz on his jimmy-rigged radio . Raymond Kui Heong “Heine” Shim was a proud father,  proud grandfather, and a proud Hawaiian. His love for fishing and music almost surpassed his love for his kids. Kapono, Kalama, and Ilima- his pride and joys.

Dad was well known in Kona for his humble yet quirky personality. He was loved and adored by many, and for those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting him, you know exactly what we mean. He could make you laugh at the drop of a dime, cracking jokes about pretty much anything you can think of. Despite him dealing with so many different ailments and health issues, he continued to smile and “ALOHA” anyone that was blessed to have crossed his path.

The loss of our Dad came suddenly and unexpectedly. Unfortunately, we live on a different island, and most of you may know, the costs involved with travel and accommodations can be pretty demanding. With great gratitude and appreciation, we are asking with heavy hearts to help us ALOHA Dad in a way that he has brought ALOHA to everyone he has touched.
