This Halloween was supposed to be a fun night out trick-or-treating with my son. We were only gone for about 45 minutes but when we came back, my car was gone.
It was stolen from Hulen Heights in Fort Worth Texas 10/31/25 approximately around 8:00 , and we found it the next day completely trashed. The seatbelts were cut, my son’s $500 car seat was missing, and all of my personal documents were taken. My heart sank seeing it like that. One of the hardest parts was losing his favorite toy. We had let him bring it along for the ride and told him to leave it in the car so it wouldn’t get lost. It was taken along with everything else, and he’s been devastated. The only light in that awful moment came from a wonderful gay couple who offered us a ride home after realizing my car had been parked just one house down from theirs. Ironically, my first time ever riding in my dream car one I could never afford in my lifetime, a $250,000 G-Wagon - was with them driving me home, while I sat in the back seat crying, As my 2.5yr old asked where our car went. Their kindness reminded me there's still good in the world.
The Fort Worth PD found my car. It’s Now sitting in my parking lot, wrecked and empty no car seat, no documents, and and because my car is so old, my insurance isn't really going to cover it since it's not worth anything in their eyes. The part that hurts the most isn’t even the car it’s that someone took my son’s car seat & Dumped his toy’s. It turns out it was just a group of kids who went joyriding.
The holidays are coming up, and so is my son’s 3rd birthday. This isn’t how we ever expected to start the holiday season feeling shaken, heartbroken, and trying to piece everything back together.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help replace my son’s car seat, recover what was taken, and put funds toward getting a safe, reliable car that’s new to us. Any support whether a donation, a share, means the world to us. Thank you for helping us get back on our feet.
