Our good friend Lauren needs our financial HELP

Lauren Fitzgibbon is a friend to many in the Brockville community and has found herself in need of help. Diagnosed with a serious heart condition, Lauren has been placed on medical leave without the protection of benefits. This will leave Lauren dependent on social assistance programs that will not cover her cost of living. With no savings Lauren will be at risk of losing her place of residence and is struggling to make ends meet. Doctors have informed Lauren the importance of maintaining a low stress level as she at risk of serious complications if she doesn’t remain calm until medical intervention can take place.
Lauren has been diagnosed with Severe Mitral Valve Prolapse requiring open heart surgery somewhere between May and June 2019. Lauren, age 40, is an active member of the community who dedicates much of her time to supporting community programs and helping others. The surgery will take place at the Ottawa Heart Institute and there will be transportation, parking and expenses associated with her stay in the hospital. A good friend of hers will be staying with her dogs to ensure they are well taken care of during her procedure and in hospital recovery.
Lauren is always ready to lend a hand to those who need encouragement and a friendly reminder that life gets better and that everyone has value. She lives at home with her dogs in Brockville, Ontario working until recently at local establishment. She always has a smile to share with others and is compassionate for the struggles in which others face through no fault of their own. She believes that everyone deserves an opportunity to thrive regardless of the barriers they may face. Please help me offer some of this support back to Lauren in her time of need.
Dollars raised through this campaign will go towards paying Lauren’s living expenses including her rent and utilities, medical expenses that are not covered through OHIP, pet expenses including food and veterinarian needs and transportation costs associated with medical care.
