Update (June 24): Buffy stayed at the vet overnight on the 22nd for seizure watch, but disappointingly and shockingly, they weren’t able to observe an episode. They took blood to test to check her white blood cell count, which has been low lately. They will use the results to assess whether she can be put on Phenobarbital for seizures. The stay at the vet, along with meds and procedures, cost ~$1100. Thank you to all who donated. Although the vets weren’t able to observe her having a seizure, Kayla is grateful she could follow the vet’s recommendation and have Buffy stay for seizure watch without additional financial stress.
Update (June 22): Buffy is having a drowsy day today from the gabapentin she was prescribed, and is still having focal seizures. She’s going to the vet tonight to stay for seizure watch, which is $300 for 12 hours and $195 for the intake. Meds and testing will be on top of that.
Summary: Buffy, Kayla’s sweet 6-year-old kitty, has been having very concerning health issues lately that the vets can’t seem to figure out. She has been having focused seizures multiple times a day for the past few weeks, and has had to visit the emergency vet twice. She was prescribed antibiotics, which have not helped, and now she needs an appointment with the only neurologist in Alberta and an MRI to properly diagnose what is going on with her. If you are in a place to help out, any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
P.S. Look at that cute face. How could you not donate??
