Our Forever Home is Within Reach!

This is not your typical GoFundMe page.  In fact, I have never made one of these. But, this is our last hope. One last ditch effort at putting this nightmare behind the Johnson Family. Please read their story.

On February 13, 2020, their house on East Princess Street burned down.

Not only did it burn down but they learned that their middle son was the one who started the fire. They tried for a long time prior to get him the help he needed, and he fell through the cracks. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely.  They have been living in a hotel ever since. Christina, Lance and their five children. 

As their Realtor, I found them a home that was perfect for their family. They were Under Contract and just days away from Settlement when Covid-19 happened. FHA guidelines changed and they no longer qualified for their loan. Everything fell apart right before their eyes. So, they continued living in the hotel. 

Multiple fire alarms at the hotel have heightened the anxiety levels for everyone. All children are now receiving care by a therapist to handle their PTSD. One child will not fall asleep without the lights on. One of the younger children will not go to sleep unless he has his bright yellow shoes right next to him - so he can easily find them in the unfortunate case of another fire.

Another kicker in the story? There was a fire   at the hotel two days ago. 

Under Contract once again!  Days before Settlement. The appraisal came in Under Value. Another obstacle completely out of their control. The Appraisal was disputed.  $4800 is keeping this family from leaving the hotel and finally living in their forever home. $4800 stands in the way of these kids finally having a safe place to call home.

Before you ask, Yes, all parties involved in this transaction have reduced their commissions to help the Johnson family.  And, now, we are asking for your help. Anything helps. If you  think your $20 donation won’t do much, please reconsider. Anything will help get us to our goal. 

The Johnson family has completely tapped out all of their finances to get them into this house. Please consider helping them. We know times are difficult for everyone today. But, could you imagine going through those difficulties while also living with four kids in a hotel room for reasons you have no control over? (Yes, four kids. Their fifth son is finally in a Facility so he can receive the care he needs.)

The children have already agreed to give up all of their Christmas gifts this year if it meant they would have a home to spend the Holidays in. Any amount raised over $4800 will go directly to the family to cover cost of food, clothing and bills since all money they currently have is being used to get them into this house.
