Our beloved, big smile, big guy George Williams Jr. has been hospitalized since December 5th 2019.
George spent over 21 days fighting for his life in ICU. Due to the grace of God and the wisdom of the team at Cooper University Hospital, George was diagnosed with HLH, the virus that killed the ESPN reporter Edward Aschoff last month.
George is fighting his way back from pancreatitis, liver and kidney failure. He is facing several weeks of chemotherapy to fight the HLH virus, as well as dialysis to combat the effects of liver and kidney failure. His prognosis today is good. The doctors call his recovery thus far miraculous and incredible. They are invested in his full recovery and have been awesome partners with him and his family during his recovery. George is receiving world class care!
George is a son, father, brother and friend, and has a great responsibility toward his family. George works two jobs to ensure that his family is provided for. Moreover, George’s son is in his first year of college.
George will celebrate his 51 birthday on Feb 3. Please help us help George through this difficult but inspirational time in his life.
Many of us would have difficulty providing for our family if we were without income for over two months, and George’s recovery is just beginning. He will continue chemo for the next several weeks and is expected to be in a physical rehab center for 2-3 months after he leaves the hospital. It could be another 6-8 months before George is able to return to work.
George is strong and remains determined and optimistic about his recovery. Thank you for your prayers and support. His village has been amazing!
All donations will be deposited in to my personal bank account and given to George’s family weekly to help with his medical and personal expenses.
