Our Fight to Keep "Evie"

Hello Friends and Family,
We’ve started this GoFundMe page to raise money for our ongoing dispute for our foster daughter, Evie. As many of you know, we became adoptive parents in May 2016 to a beautiful little girl. We took her home from the hospital at four days old after she detoxed from substantial uterine drug and alcohol exposure. She was only 5 lbs. and you could easily hold her with one hand. Evie was so tiny and struggling but she has a warrior’s soul. As with any infant born on drugs and alcohol, she has had an uphill battle in her short life. She has been diagnosed with health issues and there hasn’t been a month since we’ve been placed her that we haven’t had to take her to the emergency room. We have provided Evie with a loving home, parents that adore her, grandmothers that dote on her and numerous Aunties and Uncles that are crazy about her. In other words, we have given Evie what every child deserves: a safe, stable home in which she is unconditionally loved. We have done this while Candi has had two spinel surgeries to remove a tumor and Kim has had hip replacement revision surgery. We’ve never let our own health issues override the importance of Evie’s needs, our primary purpose is to make sure Evie is number 1.
This GoFundMe campaign is our a last and final effort to fight for our little girl, by hiring an agency to help us gather the evidence to help sway the court at our next hearing in 5 weeks. It will still be a long road after this court date, but if we could win this one, we could have a higher chance of winning the next one after that. At this point the Birthfather is incarcerated and not our primary threat. After researching a few different agencies it seems the cost to provide this service is approximately $100 an hour and we would need approximately 50 hours to spread the time of the service out over several days to be able to collect the best data. This is common practice at this point in a case that has looked like ours.
We are humbled in our request of asking our friends and family to help us with any amount possible, we realize with all the catastrophic disasters happening right now, everyone has been asking for donations and money is tight for many of you, so please know that even $5 will help us reach our goal.
