In 2015 our beautiful Cheryl was first diagnosed with bowel cancer. At just 25 years old.
Cheryl was pregnant at the time and had no option but to have a termination in order to operate on the cancer and start treatment.
The treatment was successful and she was believed to be cancer free.
In 2016 she fell pregnant again and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
When Penelope was just 11 months old Cheryl started having symptoms that she had when she was diagnosed with the cancer.
The cancer had returned and was very aggressive. She had more treatment and she was given the news that the cancer was terminal as it had spread.
There was no way of operating as any more surgery would only aggravate the spread of the cancer.
She had been receiving chemotherapy to slow down the spread of the cancer but this year she fell ill with various infections.
It breaks our hearts to write that treatment has now been stopped completely as she is not strong enough. Cheryl has fought this cruel agressive disease for so long and had such invasive chemo her body can no longer cope. End of life care is all that is being offered now to keep Cheryl as comfortable as possible.
Cheryl had hoped for months to complete things from her bucket list with her partner and children but at the meeting with her consultant March 2019 they have said her condition has deteriorated much quicker than initially anticipated. She now only has a matter of weeks with her beautiful children and partner.
We want to relieve some of the financial strain for this family and let their last weeks together be special without the worry of money.
Nothing will compare too loosing a Mum, partner and amazing friend. However together we can help Cheryl know that she is loved dearly by many and we will all stop at nothing to take even a fraction of the worry away.
