Our cat, Sadie Mae, eye removal surgery

Our sweet girl, Sadie Mae was attacked by an unknown animal on 6/6/2020 & was beat up pretty badly, with the majority of the damage being done to her face. We rushed her to Junaluska Animal Emergency Hospital. We really thought we would lose her but thankfully they were able to stabilize her. (Sorry in advance for the gruesome details) Her eye was dislocated & out of the socket, sticking out of her head, covered in blood.
They were able to put it back in place & suture the eye shut to try to allow it to heal & try to allow swelling to go down.
Now though, the Vet is not confident it will heal properly & has told us to prepare for her to have it removed within the next week or so. We were thankfully able to cover the $400 needed to get her stable & settled for the time being, however...
The estimated cost for surgery, medications, hospital stay, after surgery care, etc. is looking to be just above $1,000. This is a huge financial hit we are not prepared for. The vet has found a humane society who can take her and handle medical fees if we can not come up with the money but that would also mean a complete surrender of ownership. We will do what is best for her & her health in the end but this is our last resort option. Sadie Mae is so very loved by our 3 kiddos & is our family. This has been heartbreaking to watch her be in pain & go through this & is just as heartbreaking to think of having to give her up. We are saving anything spare out of my husbands paychecks but we're still short. If you can help at all, no amount is too small & all is so very appreciated. It is hard for me to swallow my pride & ask for help & some may think it's silly I'm doing so over a cat but at this point I'm willing to try anything to help get her healed up properly & keep her home with us while doing so ❤️
