Helping a loving student/mom: Andrea and Paulina

Donation protected
On Saturday, August 24th, Andrea was so happy to go back to school as a sophomore at Butler High School and could not wait to see all of her friends!  Andrea is a hard working student who always gives her best in every class. She has many teachers and friends at Butler High School who truly love her due to her contagious and happy personality! On Sunday, August 25th, Andrea, her mom Paulina and three other people were out celebrating a special occasion. Tragically, on that same day as they were going back home, a drunk driver rear ended their car  at 105 miles per hour and the three people in the rear seats ( Andrea, Paulina and a great friend, Carlos), suffered the worst impact ever! Sadly, Carlos passed away. He was only 21 years old. Paulina (Andrea's mom), suffered a broken hip and other broken bones. She is in critical but stable condition and cannot walk. According to the doctors, she cannot work nor perform any type of extraneous work for many  months to come. Unfortunately, Andrea who is 15 years old, suffered severe injuries in her spine that left her in very critical condition and completely paralyzed. In addition, her lungs are not working properly and she is on an artificial respirator until she is able to breathe on her own. She is currently in ICU not able to talk nor move. Mom is still in the hospital in stable condition but unable to walk. She daily requests to be wheel-chaired in to see Andrea.  Paulina is the only relative that Andrea has in this country. Her dad passed away last year and now that Paulina cannot work, she is faced with the difficult task of paying the rent for her apartment in order to avoid eviction. Not only is Paulina worried about Andrea’s condition, but she is also worried  about how the future will look like for her and Andrea. They will most likely need a wheelchair (if her physical condition allows it), an accessible place to live, rehabilitation, medicine, as well as money to pay rent and medical bills for Andrea's long, painful and hard recovery.  In addition, they will also need money for food and other unexpected expenses. This is truly a very tragic story!  I am Andrea's teacher at Butler High and would love for this beautiful family to have a little piece of mind by having the necessary funds to help them move forward without a financial burden.  Please, from the very bottom of your heart, let's help Paulina and Andrea. Here at Butler we have a motto: "We are Butler, BUTLER STRONG! ” Let's show Andrea and her mom that we can be strong together in moments of difficulty!  You will be making a huge difference in the lives of these two beautiful human beings, who are nothing but great, humble people! Paulina will personally receive all the donations. God bless you all and please continue to pray for them!
