OU Crimson Call of Duty Team funds

Hi, I am Jody Farmer Head Coach BosnWifey for the Call of Duty Esports team at the University of Oklahoma. I am trying to raise money so my team can travel and compete this 2021- 2022 school year. I am a disabled veteran who is going back to school at OU for Creative Media Productions. As a student and Coach, I want to be able to take care of my team without asking the students for money out of their pockets. I started this team one year ago and we have grown into two Call of Duty League teams also known as CDL and one Warzone team. If I raise enough through Gofundme I will be able to buy the team Jerseys, have backup controllers purchased as well as pay for travel and hotels for in-person events this year. I found that gaming helped me greatly the last year and a half with my depression and PTSD issues from my time in the Army. I want to take what I have learned about gaming and share it with the college students I work with. Showing them that gaming can be a community of people building each other up and connecting students so that college life doesn't have to feel empty or alone. Teaching gamers team spirit and camaraderie like I had when I was serving. In gaming, it doesn't matter that I am disabled, a female, or in my 30's when in the game or gaming community that doesn't matter. For the first time, I feel like I can lead again and I have a vision of a career path. Something I didn't have after being medically retired from the Army after my injuries. I want to be the leader that shares this with those around me to give them the chance to learn and grow with a path into the Esports industry.
